SC's hearing on PC's 'complicity' tomorrow
Daily Pioneer
The Supreme Court will begin hearing a petition alleging Home Minister P Chidmbaram's complicity in the controversial Aircel-Maxis deal. The petition filed by Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy seeks widening of the ongoing CBI probe into the Aircel-Maxis deal and bring Chidambaram's role within its ambit. As Finance Minister in 2006, Chidambaram has been accused of irregularity in Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to the deal to favour his son. The CBI has already registered an FIR in this deal naming former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran and his brother along with the Malaysian owners of Maxis. Facebook Twitter Linkedin Email
